FOOD AND AGRICULTURE: SUSTAINABILITY MATTERS
FEEDING THE FUTURE
Healthy farms, successful farmers and sustainable food systems are important to Peter.

His grandfather and uncle owned a dairy and diversified farm in Whitney Point, N.Y.
It was never easy and often very hard to make a secure living there, He has also worked at the Tait Farm on the growing and sales side, and has seen first hand the challenges that small producers face.

The state government should be making it easier for farmers to overcome these challenges, while also enouraging responsible conservation of the lands.
STEPS TO CHANGE
Peter will work with farmers and the agricultural industry to make them more profitable and secure, while advancing practices that protect our waterways, ensure and exceed regulatory compliance, and drawdown carbon and methane emissions.

We must use easements to ensure a stable agricultural sector in the Commonwealth.

We have many incredible farmers who are pioneering the path forward with no-till farming and smart, sustainable agricultural practices. We must do all that we can to support them.
